John Gillespie applied for revolutionary pension while living in Chester Co, Pennsylvania, May 6, 1818. He was then 70 years of age (est birth 1748). He entered the service June18, 1776. He served six years, and six months, and was discharged June 17, 1783. His family consisted of a wife, Jane, who was over 60  years of age when he made his pension application in 1818.
