Debbie Gillespie, Northern Ontario

Debbie Anne Gillespie, (nee Gregory), March 20, 1955 – November 29, 2023 of Elliot Lake.. I’m devastated to announce the passing of my loving, kind and beautiful mother who tragically lost her life during a selfless act of heroism, saving her precious dog, Shiloh. Beloved and fiercely devoted mother and best friend of Krysta. Lovingly remembered by Danan. She will always be doing “shots” with you from Heaven.

I’m comforted to know that she is reunited with her “big bro”, Billy Gregory who she deeply missed as well as her parents Jack and Anne Gregory.

To her BFF Patty and her dear friends Donna and Les thank you for loving her and taking care of her. I always knew she was in good hands. Mom cherished her many friendships. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. Survived by her Auntie Margie Gregory and Auntie Marg Winters. She loved you both so much. Always a friend to Billy.

My Mom loved her family, the “Gregory Bunch”. She looked forward to partying with her cousins every year at the August Long Thessalon Family Ball Tournament. She was known to give the best hugs and I promise to carry on her hugging legacy. She loved her Thorkilson Family. When she saw them, it was as though no time had passed. Mom was grateful for her Gillespie Family, especially for the relationship she had with the late Bill and late Iris.

I want to thank the O.P.P officers and the members of the Huron Shores Search and Rescue for the dignity and compassion you gave to my mother. A private service will be held at a later date.
