Brad Alexander Gillespie, passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on January 2, 2016 in his 58th year. Surrounded by his family and friends. Brad is survived by his loving wife Liliana (Lily) nee Mammoliti, his adored children Ashley and Justin both at home and his companion Carly, his brother Terry (Heather) sister-in-law Nancy (late Dale), mother-in-law Caterina Mammoliti, brothers-in-law Mike (Joanne), Pasquale (Crystal), Aurelio (Natalie) Vince (Lucy), sisters-in-law Nancy of British Columbia, and Rosa. Predeceased by his twin daughters Cory and Courtney (2000), his parents Alexander and Donna Gillespie, his brother Dale, father-in-law Ferdinando Mammoliti and his brother-in-law George Mammoliti. Brad will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Devoted husband and loving father, Brad loved to be social with his friends especially when it involved sports, an avid L.A. Kings and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends visited Davidson Funeral Home in Colborne on Saturday January 9 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon.

Dale James Gillespie of Port Colborne passed away at the Port Colborne General Hospital Thursday, Jan 19, 2008. Loving husband of Nancy Boda for 37 years, dear father of Kevin Krystal Gillespie of North Carolina, and Colin Carrie Gillespie of Port Colborne. Dear son of Donna Gillespie, brother of Terry Heather Gillespie and Brad Lil Gillespie. Dear son-in-law of Mary Boda, all of Port Colborne. Loving uncle of Stacy and Wade Robillard of Niagara Falls, Andrew Gillespie and his fiance Becky Lannan, Ashley and Justin Gillespie. Great  uncle of Cameron and Ryan Robillard, step grandfather of Jordan and Tyler. Predeceased by his father, Alexander Gillespie 1983, his father-in-law Emery Jim Boda 2002. An electrician, Dale was employed for 12 years at INCO, and 28 years at Stelpipe. Mrs Donna B Gillespie (nee Cook) passed away peacefully at Northlands Point on Wed, Oct 31, 2007 at the age of 89 years. Beloved mother of Terry (Heather), Brad (Lilliana), and mother-in-law of Nancy. Donna was the wife of the late Alexander Gillespie (1983), and mother of the late Dale Gillespie (2006). Loving grandmother of Kevin (Krystal), Colin (Carrie), Stacy (Wade), Andrew (Becky), Ashley and Justin; great grandmother of Cameron and Ryan. Donna was redeceased by her parents William and Ada (Rawlins) Cook, brothers Bill and Gordon, and her sister Jeva Whiting.  Born in Port Colborne, she lived in this area her whole life. She was a member of the Central United Church, the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary, the mixed Dart League and the Port Colborne Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary. Funeral service in the chapen of Davidson Funeral Home Sat, Nov 3, 2007 at 11:00 am. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

Loving mother of Jack and his wife Karen, Welland and the late Tom Gillespie (2004). Dear grandmother of Meghan and Emily and Jason, Christie and Shawn. Great Grandmother of seven. Dear sister of William (Bill) Astle and his wife Betty of Thunder Ba;. Predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Peggy Astle, and a brother Donald Astle. Betty was born and lived in Niagara Falls all her life. She worked at Dominion Chain for six years and then at Stevensville Credit Union and eventually Niagara Credit Union for 16 years until she retired in 1985 as an administrative officer. She was an active member of St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a Brownie leader for eight years. Funeral service at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Friday. Internment at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements wer with Morse & Son Funeral Home.

James Watret Beattie Gillespie (Jim) died on Friday, Nov 13, 2015 at the age of 86 at Millenium Trail Manor, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Loving husband of Shirley (nee Johnson) for 62 years. Beloved father of Ian, grandfather of Jonas, Graeme and Gabrielle. Father-in-law of Dahlia Reich.  His sister Annie Biggar, brother-in-law Bob Bibbar, and sister-in-law Edie Thompson. Fondly remembered by niece Lynn Thompson Dovi (Frank) and nephews Paul, Murray and Colin Biggar. Jim taught for 25 years, first briefly at Fort Erie Secondary School and then N.F.C.V. I for the remainder of his career. Graveside service Sat, Nov 21 at Fairview Cemetery at 2:00 pm with memorial gathering at 2:30 pm at   The Morse & Son Event Centre, Niagara Falls. John (Jack) Gillespie died on Friday, July 18, 2008 age 88. Beloved husband of Betty Gillespie for 62 years. Loving father of Jack and his wife Karen, Welland; and the late Tom. Dear grandfather of five. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Gillespie. Jack was born in Ireland and came to Vancouver and Kimberly, BC, then to Niagara Falls in 1941. He served overseas in WWII with the BC Regiment D.C. O. R and the 6th Canadian Armoured Regiment (1st Hussars) in England and North Western Europe. After his return in Dec 1945, he worked for Kimberly Clark for 13 years, and then for GM for 20 years, retiring as a Security Officer in 1984. Visitation Morse & Son Funeral Home Chapel. John Gillespie, Jack) Michael Age 66, of Welland, ON passed away on November 13, 2019, at home with his family by his side after a lengthy illness with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Husband of Karen Marie Gillespie (nee Michels) for 36 years and loving and proud father of Meghan and Emily. He is predeceased by his parents Betty (2009) and John (2008) and brother Tom (2004) all of Niagara Falls. He is the son-in-law of John (2014) and Barbara Michels of St. Catharines. Also survived by Karen’s siblings Deborah (Stan), Susan and Christopher (Cathy) as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack was a staff lawyer at Community Legal Services of Niagara South and then Executive Director until his retirement in 2010. Jack valued family time at home, camping with his daughters, travelling across Canada, he was an avid gardener, reader, cyclist and tennis player. Special thanks to the many personal support workers who were dedicated to Jack; Kelly Karner from the LHIN; Dr. Dooler and the Hospice Niagara – South Palliative Care Team; Sue, Kim, and Jocelyn for helping us through this. A special thanks to Hal Kerwin, a great friend to us, Diane Darling, and Maureen Roy for their many hours volunteering. Also a thank you to his staff members that remained in contact, as well special thanks to Dr. Joe Simunic and Steve Talosi who have helped our family tremendously. To friends and the community of Welland, thank you for supporting us through this journey. The Gillespie family  received visitors at J.J. Patterson and Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 5:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Kevin’s Church, 303 Niagara Street, Welland with reception that followed. . Cremation and interment to take place at a later date. In keeping with Jack’s wishes, his brain has been donated to Sunnybrook Hospital for research. He wanted others to learn from his donation so that a cure could someday be found.

Margaret Jury Gillespie,  (nee New) died Niagara Falls 2011, June 13, Ontario in her 93rd year at Lundy Manor, Niagara Falls. Born to Chester and Mildred (Jury) on Dec 23, 1918 in Brandon, Manitoba. Predeceased by brother Gordon and sister Marion (Brown). In 1941 she earned her B A. (Library Sciences) from McMaster University, where her father was head of the History Department, and where she met her future husband. In 1950 she married Rev Thomas William Kenneth Gillespie, and shared in his work with the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec, and later as Minister of First Baptist Church, Niagara Falls from 1972 until his passing in 1977. Beloved mother of Eric Kenneth of Toronto, Donna Margaret Sheffield, son-in-law Kevin and three grandchildren, Brad, Brittany and Brianne of Gainsville, Florida.
