Clare)  (peacefully) in the loving care of the sisters and staff at Carrigoran House, Anna Margaret (Nancy), beloved wife of the late Francis Richard and dearly loved mother of Siobhan, Padraig and the late Austin and Mary; sadly missed by her son-in-law Joe (Dowling), daughter-in-law Brenda (Clarke), grandchildren Susanna and Ronan, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Rest in peace. Removal from Carrigoran House Friday after a Prayer Service at 11 o’clock to Corpus Christi Church, Home Farm Road, Drumcondra arriving at 6 o’clock Requiem Mass tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 o’clock Funeral afterwards to Dardistown Cemetery.

Phyllis Barbara DEVERELL,  (née Gillespie) (Monkstown, Co. Dublin) – January 28, 2013 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of Blackrock Hospice; sadly missed by her loving husband Bill, sons William, David and Maurice, daughters-in-law Valerie, Fiona and Tillo, grand- children Amy, Zoe, Leah and Lionel, relatives and many friends. Funeral Service (Thursday) morning in Monkstown Parish Church at 11.30 o’clock followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium.

Alywn Gillespie artist, (Dublin), died peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in the kind and attentive care of the Mater Hospital after a courageous struggle with cancer. Mother of Finn and the late Anna, she will be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law Jess, her grandchildren Giacomo, Giorgia and Bruno, by her brothers Paul and Julian, sister Sarah, sister-in-law Deirdre, brother-in-law John and many relatives and friends. Reposed at Jennings Funeral Home, Amiens Street, Dublin 1 from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. Wednesday). The funeral took place at a private family burial in St Fintan’s, Sutton, tomorrow (Thursday). This will be followed by a celebration marking her life at a nearby venue, by invitation only.

Reposed at Massey Bros. Funeral Home 5 Newtown Park, Blackrock (Wednesday) between 5pm and 7pm. Removal  (Thursday) morning to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church Foxrock for 11.00am Requiem Mass with burial thereafter in Shanganagh Cemetery. A strong character.

Dublin) – January 3, 2018, peacefully, in his 93rd year, after a long illness bravely borne, at Clonskeagh Hospital, beloved husband of Eileen and dearly loved father of Peter, Linda and Caroline; sadly missed by his sons-in-law Trevor and Martin, daughter-in-law Brigitte, grandchildren Louise and Sam, Michelle and Lorraine, Helen and Colin, sister Eva, brother Ken and by his extended family and friends. Funeral Service (Friday) at 11.00am in St. Brigid’s Church, Stillorgan, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

Dorothy Joyce Gillespie (Nee Blake) (Balnagowan House, Dartry, Dublin 6) – February 16, 2014, in her 89th year (peacefully), in the gentle loving care of the Angels at Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington, she has now safely returned to the open arms of her husband Brian; very sadly missed by her daughters Carol (Plunkett) and Janet (Hollinshead), her son-in-law Randall Plunkett, grandchildren Bianca, Rebecca, Joshua, Alexander, Sarah and Sophie, great-grandchildren Naoise, Lily, Lana, Sacha and little Evie, relatives and many friends. Dr (Emily) Marjorie Gillespie (nèe Booth) – formerly of Dublin, widow of William and much loved mother of John and Geraldine, peacefully on January 24, 2009, aged 99, in Bristol. Funeral on Friday, February 13 at 1.15 pm., St Mary’s, Stoke Bishop.

Gillespie, (née Thome) Hanne (late of Blackrock and formerly Son, Norway) – 24 June, 2020, peacefully, at home, after a long illness surrounded by family, beloved wife of Rowan and loving mother of Teresa and Alex. Sadly missed by her brother, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, extended family and friends. In accordance with Government guidelines on public gatherings the funeral will be limited to family members only. She was cremated at 12:30oc Friday (26 June), and mourners were invited to light a candle at that time.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife and best friend, Bernadette Cunningham, his sisters-in-law, Mary Cunningham (Galway) and Teresa Cotter (Ennistymon), his brother-in-law Pat Cunningham (Corofin), relatives, colleagues and many good friends. Prayer Service was Monday (February 12) in St Colman’s Church, Corofin, Co. Galway, H54 X768 at 11.30am prior to burial in Kilmoylan Cemetery, Co. Galway.

Sheila Gillespie, nee Phelan,  Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and late of Tullamore and Sutton) – July 27, 2008, (peacefully), at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin, aged 87. Pre-deceased by her husband Edgar in 1969; will be greatly missed by her children Paul, Julian, Alwyn and Sarah, daughter-in-law Deirdre (McQuillan), son-in-law John (Everett), her grandchildren Finn, Fintan and Tom, her relatives and many friends. Her body is donated to medical research. A ceremony and reception to celebrate her life was held in the Minerva Suite, R.D.S., Ballsbridge at 4 p.m. on Thursday July 31.

Anne McCARTIE, (née Gillespie)  (Dublin) February 7, 2019 (unexpectedly) in St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved wife of the late John and wonderful Mum of the late Niall. Predeceased by her brother Frank (Boston). Will be deeply missed by her children Ciara, Joanne and Conor, son-in-law Colm, daughter-in-law Sally, brother-in-law Brendan, sister-in-law Clare, grandchildren Kate, Sarah, Rhys, Matt and Becca and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral Mass at 10.30 am in the Church of the Holy Cross, Dundrum followed by burial at Deans Grange Cemetery.

Anne O’CONNELL, nee Gillespie, (Rathfarnham, Rathgar and formerly of Willow Park School, Blackrock) – January 16, 2020, peacefully, at St James’s Hospital. Wife of the late Maurice, and mum to the late Maurice W. She will be sadly missed by her children Lucila, Carlos, Morgan, Ross and Sarah, son-in-law Kevin, many grandchildren, sisters Nuala and Bernie, brother Hugh, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, colleagues and in particular her wonderful carers. Rest in Peace. Reposed at Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham (Monday) 20th January between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. A celebration of her life was held in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross on Tuesday at 2.00pm, followed by cremation.
