Aug 31, 1822 Mr Gillespie had a cabin on ship New Swiftsure from Quebec to Montreal. He paid 2/10 for his fare.
1823
Between 1823 to 1845 there were several Emigration Agents in Upper and Lower Canada, especially in Montreal, and each was responsible for assisting poor immigrants in finding employment, shelter, provisions and transportation to their final destination. No Gillespie found in published record book of James Alliston, agent for this period, Check for other last names if interested in this period

1825 John Gillespy (Gillespie) in steerage June 24, 1825 on ship NEW SWIFTSURE from Quebec to Montreal. He paid /10 for his passage. Included 50 men, 42 women, and 58 children arriving as Peter Robinson settlers who arrived at Quebec June 21st, aboard the transport AMNITY from Co Cork. (No Gillespies have been found on listing for Peter Robinson settlers).
1825, May 25 T Wilson & J Gillespie travelled together on ship QUEBEC from Quebec to Montreal May 15th. (A Mulligan and wife also on same ship- names linked in my family history).
Sept 30, 1825 Ship CHAMBRY from Quebec to Montreal – Captain Eddy’s meals to be paid for by Gillespie & Moffat Co, Montreal (note: Daniel O’Conner was onboard…he became a leader in Bytown.)
