Bruce Gillespie. The death occurred peacefully at Andrews of Summerside on November 23rd, 2022 of Bruce Gillespie; formerly of Indian River, PE. The son of the late Alexander and Dorothy Gillespie, he was born in Montreal on August 27th, 1924. Husband of the late Yvonne Gillespie who predeceased him October 13th, 2022. Bruce served with the Canadian Navy during World War II doing convoy escort in the North Atlantic. He was employed with the Royal Trust Company at various locations across Canada prior to retiring in 1979 to his farm in PEI. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Michele (Garth) McNeill of Summerside and son Alex (Sarah) of Toronto. Also left to mourn are his grandchildren Sean McNeill (Stephanie Steele) of Charlottetown, Caitlin & Ryan Gillespie of Toronto and great grandchildren Eleanor & Juliana McNeill of Charlottetown.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law Alan (Sally) Perodeau of Montreal. Bruce was predeceased by sister Elizabeth (Dr. John) Downing and brother-in-law Giles (Pooh) Perodeau. No visitation by personal request. A private committal service was held at St. Stephen Anglican Cemetery, Irishtown PE. Arrangements entrusted to the Davison Funeral Home Kensington.

Dorothy Bernice (Gillespie) Wellman. Born July 18, 1947 on PEI, the third child of nine children born to John and Lillian Gillespie and was raised on the farm in North Milton. She married young and gave birth to Roy and Michelle. When this marriage failed, she moved to Ottawa and worked as a cook in a restaurant, where she met her current husband, Kevin Wellman. They married Aug 21, 1993 and spend 15 years together. Dorothy had five grandchildren: Ashely, Katie, Josh, Hailey, Nathan. Dorothy’s last job was at the Cumberland Lodge. The Cutcliffe Funeral Home until Thursday Morning then transferred to Park Royal United Church for funeral service at 11 a.m. Reverend Kevin Mac Kenzie officiating. Spring interment to take place at a later date in the family plot at The People’s Cemetery, Charlottetown.

Percy Everett Gillespie. The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 of Percy Everett Gillespie, age 90 years, husband of the late Mary Margaret Gillespie (MacKinnon). Born in Clyde River on February 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank and Louise (Hobbs) Gillespie. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Ron (Diane), Debbie, Ewen (Mary Ellen), Sandy (Eldon Brehaut), Susan (Marty Denham), Kevin (Dawn) and Eugene, as well as his 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers William and Howard and by his great granddaughter Dana.
Dad was a quiet, hard working man who loved his time with his family, watching hockey and baseball, woodworking, sitting out on his deck and summers at the cottage in Canoe Cove. Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home for the funeral in the chapel held on Saturday, June 11th 11:00 a.m. Interment in the People’s Cemetery.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bruce, daughter Michele (Garth McNeill) of Summerside, son Alex (Sarah) of Toronto. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren Sean McNeill (Stephanie Steele) of Charlottetown, Caitlin & Ryan Gillespie of Toronto and great grandchildren Eleanor & Juliana McNeill of Charlottetown. She is also survived by her brother Alan (Sally) Perodeau of Montreal. Yvonne was predeceased by Giles & Pooh Perodeau and Dr. John & Elizabeth Downing. No visitation by personal request. A private committal service was held at St. Stephen Anglican Cemetery, Irishtown PE.
