O’BRIEN, William John  “Bill”May 6, 1921 -Dec 17, 2014 (103 yrs),  son of John Henry O’Brien & Nellie Garrard. Lived on a farm off Lower Faraday Road, Lot 17, Con 12, Wollaston.

His wife, R Ruth Ramace, May 25, 1919 -May 15, 1994  Bill and Ruth were married 1945.

Buried St. Andrew’s United Cemetery,   Coe Hill, Ontario

Bill had moved to Madoc. He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Ellen; his siblings, Ethel, Marjorie, Helen, Frances and Bernard; his former wife Ruth; and the mother of his children Ruth. He is survived by: his brother Karl (Diane); his children, Bill (Nancy), Dan (Laurie), Jackalin (Ted) and Gilbert; his grandchildren, Colin, Kathryn, Brent, Mark, Kristel, Rachelle, Stephanie, Drew and Russel; and his great grandchildren, Samuel, Maya, Brave, Wilde, Shantel, Avery, Scarlett, Oliver, Evan, Tyler, Lucas and Lily.

Bill  lent me a Hereford, heifer calf the summer I was in 4-H,  when I so young.   I am deeply grateful for that, enjoying teaching her how  to lead, and learning how much to feed her. 4-H was a positive experience for many of us, with  many bus trips to learn how to judge cattle, and other livestock. The calf went home that fall, but I have loved farming to this day, partly because of this early experience. Thanks, Bill.
