Lieutenant Charles Gillespie, 4th Bn, Highland Light Infantry, died Sept 22, 1915, age 22,  Plot I, B 27. Son of Mrs Christina Wallace Hird Gillespie & and late James Ross Gillespie of St Andrews.  His brother, James Gillespie also died on service and is buried  at Serre Road Cemetery, No 2.

Roll of Honour: Noel James Gillespie, 5081, Private, 7th Bn, Australian Infantry, A. I. F, died Oct 6, 1917, age 27, Plot IV, E 26. Son of Alexander and Jane Gillespie of Lake Boga, Victoria, Australia. A farmer from Lake Boga prior to enlistment, A/Cpl Gillespie embrarked with the 16th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Suffolk on April 1, 1916. Later reverting to the ranks of Private, he was wounded in action at Polygon Wood. He succumbed to his wounds on October 6th, 1917. Noel died at 59th General Hospital from wounded described as guns shot wounds to the chest penetrating and gun shot wound to arm.
