Gerald Francis Gillespie,  died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Bluewater Health on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Judith. Dear father of Fr. Chris Gillespie, Elizabeth Brooks (Damian), Joanne Dion (Alain), Thien An Gillespie and Tami Gillespie (Cody). Stepfather of Richard Spicer (Melanie) and Chris Spicer. Loving grandpa of Stuart, Natasha, Adam, Kaitlyn, Keira, Ava and Stella. Brother of Jim Gillespie and Mike Gillespie. Predeceased by parents Francis and Joyce Gillespie, son Allan and sister Ann. Gerald came to Canada from Scotland in 1970. He worked as a lawyer with the Ontario Government in Toronto and moved to Sarnia in 1973 to become the city solicitor for Sarnia. In 1985 he moved to private practice and in 2005 became a Deputy Judge in the Sarnia Lambton area. He was very active in volunteer work as well, volunteering with St. John’s Ambulance and the Knights of Columbus. He was on the board of the St. Clair Child and Youth Centre and Goodwill. After retirement in 2015, he continued volunteering with Victim Services of Sarnia Lambton and the Red Cross. Gerald was a kind gentle man who enjoyed working with people. One of his great enjoyments was walking with his beloved dogs. He was also an enthusiastic and knowledgeable aquarist.   In keeping with Gerald’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.

James Edward Gillespie, “Jim”  Passed away December 27,  2008, at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of 32 years to Shirley. Dearest father of Tim and wife Mandy. Predeceased by parents James and Elizabeth Gillespie. Cherished grandfather of Holly and friend Ryan, Heidi and friend Matt, Sean, Ashley and friend Brandon, and Timothy (T.J.). Special great-grandfather to Jayden, Keara, and Kia. Predeceased by his sister Doris, and survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert & Joan Rorison and Ron Tweedale & Gail Goodall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jim was retired from Chrysler after 30 years of dedicated service and a member of CAW Local 444. Visiting at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, December 29, 2008, from 2 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment  followed at Victoria Memorial Gardens.

Daughter of Margaret (Peg) Gillespie and the late Lorne Gillespie (1986). Survived by brother Hugh Gillespie & wife Sandra of Calgary; sisters Jo-Anne Service & husband George of Chatham, and Sharron Willcock & her late husband Keith (2005) of Sarnia. Also survived by her nephews Jeff & Todd Gillespie, Brett, Mike, Mark and Colin Service, Rob Willcock and her only niece Lisa Willcock-Smith. Cherished great nieces Jordan Gillespie, Hunter Smith, Blythe Service,  & Maddie Service.  Great nephews Ryan Gillespie & Zachery Smith. Margaret Plaier Henderson (Nee McPhee) Gillespie “Peg” passed away Monday, Sept 17, 2007 at Afton Park Place Nursing Home in Sarnia at the age of 93. She was the eldest daughter of the late Hugh McPhee and Maggie Lorimer. Daughters Jo-Anne (George) Service of Chatham and Sharron Willock of Sarnia, and one son Hugh Sandra) of Calgary. A granddaughter, seven grandsons and six great-grandchildren. One brother, Rev George McPhee (Audrey) of Windsor also survives.  She was predeceased by her husband Lorne Gillespie (1986), daughter Lorraine (2007) son-in-law Keith Willock (2005), sister and brother-in-law Mary and Glen Easery.  Visitation at Walter D Kelly Funeral Home with service on Thursday, Sept 20, 2007 at 11:30 am. Beloved father of Susan Gagnon (Bob Smith), Steve (the late Madeleine Tremblay 2023) and Nancy Howard. Dear grandfather of Jamie Gillespie (Meaghan), Colin Howard (Nikita) and Lucas Howard. Great-grandfather of Alaiya, Darius, Wyatt, Arabeth, Paisley and Isaiah. Survived by brother-in-law, Michael Carter (Sokha) and sister-in-law Carol Hall (Gerry). Dear uncle of Chris (Diane), Sandy, Janice (John), Karen (Scott), Cory, Ninkasi, Orchidee and Lorcan.
