William Gillespie, (Willie) 13th June 2023, (peacefully) at his home, 35 Virginia Court, Waterside. Beloved husband of Bernie, loving father of Noella, Tony, Martin, Karen, Cathy and Paul, much loved grandfather of Rachel, Dearbháil, Ethan, Joshua, Caislín, Aine, Odhran and Cillian, son of the late Billy and Annie (formerly of Lecky Road) and dear brother of Tony, John, Michael, Leo, Bimbo, Ann and the late Mary, Rosie, Packy and Lily. Sadly missed by all his great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law. His remains reposed in his home. Funeral from there was on Friday at 11.30am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am.

Willie Gillespie. The beloved wife Bernie, daughters & sons and the entire family circle of the late Willie Gillespie wish to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to all those who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement. We really appreciate the kindness and support conveyed to us in so may different ways. Heartfelt thanks to our family, friends, neighbours, and members of the wider community who attended the wake, funeral, telephoned, messaged, sent mass and sympathy cards. We greatly appreciated all the beautiful flowers and any kind donations sent in lieu of flowers for the Foyle Hospice. A special thank you to all the carers, nurses and doctors who cared for Willie during his short illness. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions. Willie’s Months mind Mass will be held on Saturday 15th July, 2023 at 11am in the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Trench Road, Derry.
