Today, Nov 11, 2025, I honour a Vietnam soldier, Robert Gillespie Jr of Attleboro, Bristol, Massachusetts, the only son of Robert Sr, (1917-1994) and Lois Gillespie (1919 – 2014), who were very involved in sending out a Gillespie newsletter for many years. (Newsletters In Library Archives).

Quiz answer: The love of Sam’s life, Minnie Elizabeth Gillespie (1876-1933) his third wife (m June 3, 1918 in Erie, PA) of Morewood, Dundas County, d/o William Gillespie & Lucy Beach, granddaughter of James Gillespie & Margaret Cameron formerly of Aberdeen, Scotland, who lived nearby in Chesterville. Family history of James and Margaret and also & his parents in Scotland from link. Minnie died of kidney failure, and her mother Lucy, a widow, came to help care for her in the east end of Toronto. Minnie’s father, William Gillespie, had passed away. Minnie lies in the grave beside my father.
